Mogale water crisis: ‘We are working around the clock’

Continuous water supply is affecting the reservoir levels and for now some areas are still without water.

Regarding the town’s water crisis Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has released the latest information saying that after three days of operating at very low levels, the water levels of Mogale City’s reservoirs are still very low.

“Reservoirs levels are currently at two metres while the maximum operating levels are eight metres. As water is pumped into the system by Rand Water, ongoing supply affects water levels,” read the statement.

The statement said that although water supply has been restored in some low-lying areas, many parts of Krugersdorp such as Dan Pienaarville, Munsieville, Krugersdorp West and Tarlton are still without water.

This means that water tankers will remain in these affected areas until the situation stabilises.

“We assure residents that we are working around the clock in collaboration with Rand Water to restore full water supply in the city.”
