The body of an unidentified woman was found just off Sterkfontein Caves Road in Kromdraai early on Thursday morning, 27 May.
BCI Security confirmed that at about 8.15am one of their vehicles was stopped by a community member who asked for their help after a passer-by had found the body. BCI then went to the scene. In a Facebook post, Conserve Security said they received a call from a community member at 7.33am informing them of the body, and they dispatched an officer to the scene.
The News found the scene cordoned off. The Krugersdorp Police were there and the body was covered in blankets.

One woman who had been at the scene since 6am believed that the body must have been there since way earlier. She added that the deceased was found naked, but they could not say how she died. However, she believed the victim was murdered, which is yet to be confirmed by police.
The bystander said this was the third body that was found on that road in recent years, and she believed it to be a murderers’ dumping ground.

The community members on scene said they did not hear anything suspicious last night or early this morning. They believed that the victim was not from their area, although a few taxi drivers said they recognised her face.
