A 30-year-old man found himself on the wrong side of the law recently when he was linked to the murder of a missing person.
The man, who was arrested by a team of Magaliesburg detectives on Friday, 18 June, will appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder.
Sergeant Kgomotso Mogwere from the Magaliesburg Police’s corporate communication said the arrest came after a tip-off from the community.

Police found the body of a man in a shallow grave at the Protea Mine in Magaliesburg, and started an investigation. A post mortem confirmed that the body was that of a man who had been reported missing with the Magaliesburg Police in April.
Captain Irene Tshikovhi, the acting Magaliesburg Police station commander said she was proud of the team of detectives and the community members who worked together not only to trace the missing person, but also to secure the arrest of the suspect.
Violent crime such as murder has a long-lasting emotional impact on the affected family, therefore we will continue to extend the long arm of the law and bring the perpetrators to book,” she added.
The Magaliesburg Police urged the community again to report crime to them on 014 577 5136 or make use of the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111. Alternatively they can use the SMS number on 32211 and remain anonymous.
