WATCH: Serious crash outside nature reserve – Two airlifted

Many people were injured in a collision between a truck and a taxi on the R24 outside the Krugersdorp Nature Reserve on Wednesday.

Two people were airlifted to hospital by helicopter after a truck and mini-bus taxi collided in Tarlton on Wednesday, June 23.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said paramedics responded to reports of a collision on the R24 outside the Krugersdorp Nature Reserve at 11:45.

“Reports indicate that a truck and minibus taxi were involved in a T-bone collision, resulting in the taxi rolling over.”

Medics found that many of the taxi occupants had sustained moderate to serious injuries.

“Two of the patient who had sustained serious traumatic injuries were airlifted by helicopter ambulances to specialist facilities.”

The other patients were treated on the scene and transported to local hospitals by various ambulance services once they were stabilised.
