Covid-19: Mogale City now has 3 113 active cases
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 5 528 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 22 031 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 18 371 people have recovered so far. There has been 547 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 3 113.
Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 11 619 and 7 423 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 9 707 and 6 323 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 41 080 with 1 149 deaths and 34 403 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 5 528.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 36 837 and 30 383 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 649 494 with 551 199 recoveries and 12 887 deaths. This translates to 85 480 active cases within the Province.
