Active Covid-19 cases in Mogale City showing a slight downward trend

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 5 102 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 25 750 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 22 045 people have recovered so far. There have been 624 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 3 081.

Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 12 906 and 8 593 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 11 438 and 7 351 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 47 256 with 1 318 deaths and 40 836 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 5 102.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 44 518 and 37 268 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 763 653 with 652 634 recoveries and 14 377 deaths. This translates to 96 642 active cases within the Province.
