Active Covid-19 cases in Mogale City now at 2 198

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 26 496 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 23 653 people have recovered so far. There have been 645 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 2 198.

Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 13 180 and 8 841 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 11 946 and 7 741 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 48 524 with 1 370 deaths and 43 342 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 3 812.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 46 200 and 40 512 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 792 130 with 699 717 recoveries and 14 867 deaths. This translates to 77 546 active cases within the Province.
