#Unrest: Azaadville community donates 32 000 loaves of bread to Durban

The Azaadville community have opened their hearts to the Durban community and have sent them 32 000 loaves of bread.

When the Azaadville community saw a need they did not hesitate to open their hearts.

This follows violent protests that shook South Africa to their core this week.

For days residents have been seeing the destruction that was left after looting and rioting crippled parts of the country specifically Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. Many reports have surfaced about residents in KZN not even being able to buy bread.

The Azaadville community heard this and quickly sprung into action. After striking a deal with Sasko, a truck was loaded with 32 000 loaves of bread on Wednesday, July 14. The truck arrived in Durban early Thursday morning, July 15.

The bread was given to an organisation which will help with the distribution of donations to the communities affected by the looting.

The trucks arrived safely in Durban and the community said that this was just the first truck as they plan on sending more donations with basic commodities needed by those affected.
