Mogale City sees a decline in active Covid-19 cases

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 27 009 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 24 531 people have recovered so far. There have been 666 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 1 812.

Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 13 405 and 9 118 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 12 247 and 8 055 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 49 539 with 1 425 deaths and 44 835 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 3 279.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 47 247 and 42 598 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 811 841 with 729 926 recoveries and 15 311 deaths. This translates to 66 604 active cases within the Province.
