Police on top of things in Kagiso

Three suspects were arrested during a special operation recently. They were found with hidden alcohol.

Captain Solomon Sibiya, the Kagiso Police spokesperson said they fight crime consistently in their area, they always come up on top, and they are making life difficult for perpetrators.

He explained that on the morning of July 18 at about 10:00 three suspects aged 26, 27 and 36 were stopped and arrested in Tshepisong during a special operation.

“The police noticed the suspects’ vehicle driving in an open space between Tshepisong and Extension 13. As police approached from the opposite direction, the driver of the vehicle attempted to reverse. The police stopped him, and conducted body and vehicle searches.”

During their search police found two paper potato bags with bottles of beer inside. They also found a school bag with two bottles of alcohol of an unknown brand inside.

The three suspects were arrested and a case of transporting liquor and thus contravening the Disaster Management Act regulations was opened. The suspects will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
