Mogale City reports 706 Covid-19 related deaths
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 1 861 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 27 668 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 25 926 people have recovered so far. There have been 706 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 1 036.
Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 13 693 and 9 461 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 12 871 and 8 653 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 50 829 with 1 516 deaths and 47 452 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 1 861.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 48 887 and 46 078 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 840 553 with 784 447 recoveries and 16 107 deaths. This translates to 39 999 active cases within the Province.
