Two hospitalised after bakkie rollover

Emergency services responded to a bakkie rollover in a field in Mulderdrift on Sunday.

Emergency response units were called to the scene of a bakkie rollover on Sunday at about 11:13, according to communication from ER24.

Ross Campbell, ER24 Multimedia Producer said, “Two people believed to be in their 70s or 80s have suffered critical injuries when rolling their bakkie on Utopia Road in Muldersdrift”.

ER24 reportedly found the bakkie on its roof in a field, with the man and woman still inside. The two were extracted through the rear window.

“Both patients required advanced life support interventions to stabilise them before the woman was flown to hospital by medical helicopter, and the man was transported by ER24 along with another private service’s advance life support medic to Leratong Hospital for further care,” Ross explained.

The Krugersdorp Fire Department and Mogale City Public Safety reportedly were also on the scene.
