Man in serious condition after buffalo attack in Magalies

A man sustained serious injuries when a buffalo attacked him on a farm in Hekpoort.

Netcare 911 reported that a man had to be airlifted to hospital after he was attacked by a buffalo on a farm in Hekpoort on Monday, August 2.

Shawn Herbst, Netcare media liaison said, “Reports indicate that a 29-year-old adult male worker walking a boundary fence had been attacked following a confrontation with a buffalo.

The patient had sustained serious crush injuries to his entire body and was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 emergency practitioner. Once stabilised, the patient was flown by Netcare helicopter to a specialist hospital for the care he required.”
