Several arrests in Kagiso as police stamp their authority

Kagiso Police recently made another eight arrests for crimes including murder, assault GBH, contravention of a protection order and more.

Spokesperson for the Kagiso Police, Captain Solomon Sibiya, said they are taking charge of their area and are leaving no stone unturned to fight crime.

As the police’s special operation intensified on Friday, August 6, some of those on the wrong side of the law ended up behind bars.

In collaboration with the Kagiso Detectives eight arrests were made – one for murder; one for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm; two for common assault; one for contravention of a protection order; one for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition; one for housebreaking and theft; and one for common robbery.

As a result of these arrests, one rifle, one magazine and 16 rounds of ammunition were confiscated.”

The Kagiso Police station commander, Brigadier Themba Maduna was pleased to see this kind of commitment from the members in an effort to make residents feel safe and protected.
