At 12:42 on Saturday August 28, Netcare 911 along with Mountain Club of South Africa Search and Rescue, Search and Rescue South Africa and the Hekpoort Farm Patrol members responded to an incident at the Karee Hiking Trail in Rustig, Hekpoort where a woman had reportedly slipped, injuring herself.

Netcare 911 media representative Shawn Herbst said, “Reports indicate that an adult female in her 30s was deep into the hiking trail when she lost her footing, injuring her lower limb.
“After a briefing, the rescue teams set out on the trail to locate the woman. She was treated on scene and carried out on a specialised stretcher to an awaiting ambulance.”
