Break-in reports across Mogale mirror police crime statistics – 20 reported this week

The ten break-ins and one attempted break-in reported to EPR recently mirror what the police crime statistics say.

EPR security recently released their latest crime report, which showed that 20 incidents were reported to the security company between August 23 and 28.

Ten were break-ins, nine of which happened at residences. There were also one attempted break-in, two reports of damage to property, four reports of theft, one of murder, and one domestic violence incident.

Johan Krogh, general manager of EPR security on the West Rand said they had noticed a spike in the reporting of break-ins in the area, especially at residential properties.

This confirms the increase in residential property crimes as contained in the crime stats released by the police for the first quarter of this year. We urge residents to make sure that their alarm systems are in full working condition at all times,” he concluded.
