Active Covid-19 cases in Mogale City declining

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 242 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 29 234 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 28 311 people have recovered so far. There have been 798 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 125.

Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 14 219 and 10 097 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 13 666 and 9 653 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 53 557 with 1 683 deaths and 51 632 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 242.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 52 550 and 51 550 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 908 183 with 883 009 recoveries and 18 866 deaths. This translates to 6 308 active cases within the Province.
