Courier companies targeted during robberies – EPR’s latest crime report

EPR security's Johan Krogh said courier companies are being targeted by robbers.

Fewer incidents were reported to EPR security recently, according to their latest incident report. But even with this being the case robbery and theft still topped the list.

In the period from September 27 to October 3, the company received reports of 22 incidents, the majority of which occurred on October 2.

During this period five thefts, four robberies, three incidents of damage to property, two break-ins and two trespassing incidents were reported. Other incidents included domestic violence, nature damage, attempted theft, assault, a suspicious person and an attempted robbery.

Most of the incidents were at residences.

EPR’s general manager for the West Rand, Johan Krogh confirmed that there had been fewer incidents but that robbery remained a major concern.

Residents and business owners awaiting the delivery of parcels need to be very vigilant as courier companies are being targeted at their place of delivery.”
