Covid-19 vaccinations administered in the West Rand now at 334 842

A total of 5 216 448 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as at October 13. The total number of individuals vaccinated are at 3 579 898 with 2 535 339 individuals being fully vaccinated.

In the West Rand, which comprises of Mogale City, Rand West City and Merafong City, 334 842 vaccinations have been administered, with 159 655 individuals fully vaccinated. According to the Gauteng Provincial Government, the population of the West Rand now stands at 686 355.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg, 2 302 017 vaccines have been administered with 1 075 192 individuals fully vaccinated. The population of Johannesburg stands at 4 360 765.

Vaccinations per age group in Gauteng:

• 18 to 34 years: Out of a population of 5 196 154, 439 544 individuals have been fully vaccinated
• 35 to 49 years: Out of a population of 13 441 983, 947 420 individuals have been fully vaccinated
• 50 to 59 years: Out of a population of 1 330 500, 526 135 individuals have been fully vaccinated
• 60+ years: Out of a population of 1 342 689, 621 940 individuals have been fully vaccinated
