Covid-19 vaccine: 371 369 jabs administered in the West Rand

A total of 5 747 797 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as at October 25. The total number of individuals vaccinated is at 3 835 423 with 2 865 283 individuals being fully vaccinated.

In the West Rand, which comprises of Mogale City, Rand West City and Merafong City, 371 369 vaccinations have been administered, with 180 353 individuals fully vaccinated. According to the Gauteng Provincial Government, the population of the West Rand now stands at 686 355.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg, 2 530 246 vaccines have been administered with 1 220 113 individuals fully vaccinated. The population of Johannesburg stands at 4 360 765.

Vaccinations per age group in Gauteng:

• 18 to 34 years: Out of a population of 5 196 154, 596 553 individuals have been fully vaccinated
• 35 to 49 years: Out of a population of 13 441 983, 1 064 294 individuals have been fully vaccinated
• 50 to 59 years: Out of a population of 1 330 500, 564 063 individuals have been fully vaccinated
• 60+ years: Out of a population of 1 342 689, 640 044 individuals have been fully vaccinated
