Kagiso artists racking up the views on YouTube with latest hit
Woza is the latest amapiano-style song to come out of the West Rand and is currently making its way through the music scene.
The latest song to hit the streets of Mogale City, Woza, by Lesego Dibe and Semende Ndlovu aka Semmy Lover is taking the amapiano music scene by storm, and racking up the views on YouTube and even other music streaming platforms.
The creative mind behind the song and its accompanying music video, along with Lesego, is Koketso Mhlongo who has in the past worked with various music artists, and who produced and filmed Woza.
Koketso said, “We’ve released the amapiano song for December under Universal Dreamers Production and received over 200 views on its first five days on YouTube. We began to gain recognition in 2020 when we were only doing films. Later on we earned more prominence with the release of the film No Happiness. Lesego is taking amapiano to the top and she is becoming popular in South Africa after releasing only one single so far. She is a singer, songwriter and actress, and her single Woza is a hit with close to 500 views now on YouTube.”
Amapiano is a genre of music akin to house music with South African flare, and is a kind of mix between deep house and jazz.
“Woza is a vibe song for being festive. It’s a song that makes everyone dance and forget about the sorrows we’ve been facing since this pandemic started. We want to bring back people’s smiles and help people come together as one.”
