Police investigating horror crash which claimed five lives, including baby

Police are investigating a horror crash in which five people including a baby were killed on the R41 last week.

Police have started an investigation into a car accident that claimed the lives of five people, including a baby in Kagiso last Thursday night, October 28.

According to Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, spokesperson for the West Rand District Police and the Randfontein Police, the accident occurred at about 21:00 on the R41 and involved two motor vehicles, a Ford Figo and a Ford Focus.

Five victims – four adults and a baby – lost their lives. One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The case is still under investigation and we are yet to determine the cause of the accident.”

West Rand District Police Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana urged motorists to be vigilant and careful on the road. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes those injured a speedy recovery.

“One life lost is one too many,” he said.
