While taking a bath, woman’s boyfriend steals her car, other things

A man was arrested for stealing his girlfriend's car and laptop while she was taking a bath and getting ready for work.

There is no worse feeling than being stabbed in the back, especially by someone you trust. This is what happened to a woman from Kagiso recently.

According to Kagiso Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya, a woman phoned them after her boyfriend allegedly had stolen her car and laptop on October 18.

The woman told police at about 07:30 she was taking a bath and getting ready for work. Her boyfriend was supposed to drive her to her new job.

After the bath she noticed that her boyfriend had left the house with her car keys. She also noticed that her laptop, ID book, two cell phones and vehicle documents were missing.

The victim tried to call her boyfriend and went outside the house. She realised that her white Toyota Etios was also missing. The boyfriend eventually responded and promised to call her back later, but he never did,” explained Captain Sibiya.

She then phoned the Kagiso Police to report her vehicle and laptop as stolen.

The police launched a manhunt for the man and at about 08:00 on Tuesday, November 2 he was arrested in central Kagiso.

The car was not recovered when the suspect was arrested.

He is being held on charges of stealing a motor vehicle and a laptop, and will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
