The latest crime report from EPR Security shows that the company’s reaction officers responded to 30 incidents between November 8 and 14.
The good news is, said the company’s general manager Johan Krogh, they have seen a decline in incidents being reported compared to the previous week.
Krogh revealed that three types of crimes stood out this past week – break-ins (seven incidents), damage to property (six incidents) and theft (five incidents).
Other incidents included intimidation, assault, domestic violence and attempted murder.
Seventeen of the incidents responded to were at business premises, and 11 were at residences.
Krogh added that because of the load-shedding they suggest that homeowners and businesses have their alarm systems checked before the festive season.
“Especially the batteries,” he added.
