Robber arrested shortly after early morning Kenmare home invasion

A couple was manhandled by a group of suspects before being robbed of valuable house possession in Kenmare. EPR Security, however, apprehended one of them shortly thereafter.

Following an arrest by EPR Security, a 39-year-old man found himself in the Krugersdorp Police cells.

Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane explained the man was arrested at about 00:15 on Wednesday, December 1 after he allegedly robbed a house on Elphin Street, Kenmare.

He said a couple were still awake and the man was working on his computer when he saw three men inside the house.

The intruders subsequently manhandled the couple and stole a Dell laptop, two Samsung A10 cell phones, jewellery and a purse containing bank cards and cash. They then fled the scene in a maroon Toyota Etios.

The neighbour who heard the screaming contacted EPR Security. They gave chase and one of the suspects was apprehended a block away from the crime scene.”

A Samsung A10 cell phone was found in his possession and he was handed over to the police. The other two suspects are still at large.

Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the other two suspects is asked to contact the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151, make use of the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, the My SAPS app or send an SMS to 32211.

Krugersdorp Police station commander Brigadier Happy Xaba applauded EPR Security for their quick response and for working hand in hand with the police to make sure the community feels safe.
