The West Rand District Police Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana and his senior management took time at the end of their Okae Malao operations to congratulate 17 newly appointed officers.

West Rand District Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya said that after a day of hard work and endurance on Thursday, January 6 the Commissioner and management congratulated the officers in the presence of their colleagues.

The officers who were promoted from lieutenant colonel to full colonel are:
• Lieutenant Colonel Mogotlane from the Krugersdorp Vispol, who is now the Vispol commander of the Krugersdorp Police
• Lieutenant Colonel Makhafula from the Westonaria Police who is now the Vispol commander of the Randfontein Police
• Lieutenant Colonel Greyling from the Randfontein Police HR has been promoted to head of Support at the Kagiso Police
• Lieutenant Colonel Enoch from the Westonaria Police has been promoted to Detectives Branch commander at the Jabulani Police in Soweto

The officers who were promoted from captain to lieutenant colonel are:
• Captain Mohapi is now the relief commander of the Krugersdorp police CSC
• Captain Rautenbach is now the relief commander of the Randfontein Police CSC
• Lieutenant Colonel Klopper is now the Detectives commander at the Carletonville Police: All crimes
• Lieutenant Colonel Silinda is now the Detectives commander at the Krugersdorp Police: All crimes
• Lieutenant Colonel Motsepe is now the Detectives commander at the Kagiso Police: All crimes
• Lieutenant Colonel Baloyi is now the Detectives commander at the Randfontein Police: All crimes
• Lieutenant Colonel Kaotsane is now the Finance Management commander at the Krugersdorp Police
• Lieutenant Colonel Rautenbach is now the Human Resource Management (HRM) commander at the Krugersdorp Police
• Lieutenant Colonel Lebeko is now the Supply Chain Management (SCM) commander at the Krugersdorp Police

Officers who were promoted from warrant officer to captain are:
• Captain Schultz is now the Vispol commander at the Fochville Police
• Captain Ravhudzulo is now the Vispol commander at the Tarlton Police
• Captain Mokgothu is now the Exhibits commander at the Krugersdorp Police
• Captain Motlhale is now the Detectives commander at the Westonaria Police: All crimes

“Congratulations to all of you. It was not easy to pick you, but at the end of the day there had to be one with more points. Everyone has his/ her own time to be promoted and if that time has come, nothing can stop it. For those who also applied but did not make it, it does not mean that they are bad. It’s not their time.
