Marching against drugs in Krugersdorp West

The Rhema group recently held another one of their drug awareness marches, this time in Krugersdorp West.

Drug addiction touches many lives and in Krugersdorp especially, drug use runs rampant in many areas.

The Rhema Freedom In Christ Support Group wanted to bring the community together to speak about the issues surrounding drug abuse, and to create awareness among locals.

On Saturday, January 29 about 100 people came together at the corner of Flemming Avenue and Rustenburg Road in Krugersdorp West to start their awareness march toward Job Street in Apple Park.

“We were doing a war cry: ‘Say no to drugs and yes to Jesus! Drugs destroy families. Support healers and not dealers’,” Sylvester Sauls from Rhema explained.

“With every march we are launching support groups for the addicts and their families, and create drug awareness.”

Rhema also handed out multiple food parcels to families in need.

Sylvester concluded, “We stand on three principals: We will not bow down to addiction; you are not alone; and we are stronger together”.
