Drug dealing in Hekpoort: Man arrested after many land up in hospital

The Hekpoort community recently assisted the police in finding the person who was dealing drugs in their community.

When the people of Hekpoort became suspicious of drug dealing in their community they called the police which led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man.

Their suspicions were raised when three people were admitted to hospital and it was found that they had been on drugs.

Hekpoort Police spokesperson Sergeant Gloria Maswanganye said in a statement that the man had already appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on charges of being in possession of narcotics.

Under the command of Sergeant Ndateni Phosa of the Hekpoort Police Crime Prevention Unit they followed up on information they had received and this led them to the house of the suspect.

While searching the house police found drugs and the suspect was arrested.”

Hekpoort Police station commander Captain Tebogo Kgomo was pleased with the members’ efforts to bring the criminal to book. He also thanked the community for their support and willingness to help reduce crime in their area.
