Uncollected rubbish to remain so for another week

Mogale City's Waste Management Division wishes to apologise to residents and businesses affected by the non-provision of refuse removal services.

The Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) explained why certain areas’ refuse was not removed on Monday and Tuesday, February 28 and March 1.

MCLM said in a statement, “Mogale City’s Waste Management Division wishes to apologise to residents and businesses affected by the non-provision of refuse removal services.

“The scheduled service was regrettably disrupted by a labour dispute which saw workers not reporting for duty on said days. Management is urgently addressing this impasse.

“It should also be noted that although normal refuse removal services resumed on Tuesday, we regrettably must stick to our normal schedule for the remainder of the week to avoid further backlogs and potential service disruptions.

This therefore means that areas not serviced on Monday and Tuesday will only be covered in the upcoming week, and we urge affected residents to keep their refuse bins in their yards until next week. We apologise profusely for this inconvenience and thank you in advance for you understanding.”
