According to Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane, the victim was alone at home and went out to check why the dogs were barking. He then saw an unknown man at the gate and asked him how he could assist him. Suddenly three other men appeared from nowhere, overpowered him and forced him into the house and into the main bedroom.

The victim’s hands were tied with an electric cord and the intruders ransacked the house. They stole three TVs, two laptops, jewellery and a white GWM LDV motor vehicle. They also fled the crime scene in a bronze/gold Ford Kuga or Eco Sport with unknown registration number.

“The victim managed to free himself and went to the neighbours to seek help, and the police and Community Policing Forum members were contacted. One of the suspects was arrested at Voortrekker and Barrett Roads, and the stolen vehicle was recovered. The other three suspects are still at large.”

The arrested suspect will appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the other three suspects can contact Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151 or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, or via the My SAPS app or SMS number 32211 and remain anonymous.
