The dedicated team’s noise attracted other people and made the day more interesting, as visitors and patients washed their hands at the hospital entrance while making their way inside.

All infection prevention and control guidelines should be adhered to in order to maintain the standard of hand hygiene,” said Diana Ngwenya, the hospital’s Acting Chief Executive Officer.

Puseletso said the community was also encouraged to be ambassadors by sharing information with others and their families, and that hand washing is not only limited to the work environment.

“The working team comprised of the Environmental Health and Safety, and the Infection Prevention and Control Departments.”

The hospital’s theme for 2022 is ‘Unite, talk and work together on hand hygiene for high quality safer care everywhere’.
