Welcoming Riaan to the News team

Riaan van Zyl is back with a vengeance and has joined the News team. 'I would like to encourage the public to approach me with whatever is close to their hearts.'

“There can be no higher law in journalism than to tell the truth and to shame the devil,” said American journalist Walter Lippmann.

I hope this adage will be the benchmark for the quality of journalism by which I will serve my community as a reporter for the Krugersdorp News. Although I am not a completely new addition to the Caxton family, this will be my first opportunity after a three-year hiatus to work as a reporter in the Krugersdorp area.

As a newshound, I enjoy reporting on the full spectrum of news but have a passion for hard news, crime reporting, and investigative work.

I would like to encourage the public to approach me with whatever is close to their hearts. I am looking forward to getting to know the readers and want to invite you to come and say hi to me when you see me out and about.

I am an avid reader, an obsessive trail and ultra runner (when I am not injured), and I dabble in veganism.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
