Young girls from Kagiso strut their stuff

Modelling agency in Kagiso hosted the Miss Best of the Best pageant at the Chief Mogale Hall in Kagiso recently, with 44 models competing.

Young girls from Kagiso recently had the opportunity to strut their stuff on the runway and stand a chance to further their studies as well.

Modelling Motions, a modelling agency in Kagiso hosted the Miss Best of the Best pageant at the Chief Mogale Hall in Kagiso on Saturday, June 18 where 44 models competed.

Avuxeni Computer Academy sponsored bursaries for the winners and Ntimane Construction donated funds for the pageant.

There were five categories for the girls to enter.

Little Miss Best of the Best was Thembelihle Miya, with Angel Choshi being her first princess and Amogelang Mongale the second princess. The winners in this category each received a trophy.

In the Junior Miss Best of the Best category Karabo Selahla was crowned queen, while Resego Maruping and Zanokuhle Metswamere was her first and second princesses respectively. They also each received a trophy.

Owethu Tembe was crowned the Pre-Teen Miss Best of the Best with Katlego Leping as the first princess and Refentse Mongale as the second princess. The winners each received a crown, a sash and shopping vouchers.

Teen Miss Best of the Best was Shamiso Biza, with Ntokozo Mkhwanazi voted first princess and Reatlegile Mohithli voted second princess. They each received a crown and a sash as well as a bursary for computer studies at Avuxeni Computer Academy.

Mpho Phalane was crowned the Miss Best of the Best queen and won a computer course worth R7 000, while her first princess Olebogeng Seake won a course worth R5 999, and second princess Simamnkele Ngxishe won a course worth R1 299.

Kealeboga Tsomele was also the Miss Best of the Best Public Choice and won with 3 693 votes.

Miss Gauteng Exclusive 2022 Mosa Papa formed part of the pageant.

Tholang Lebelo, the CEO of Modelling Motions said the pageant was held to empower under-privileged young girls by making sure that their passion gives them a better future. Six bursaries were awarded and Tholang said they plan on hosting many more such pageants.

“The event was well attended and a great success as it attracted models from other provinces as well,” Tholang said.
