Crawford boy’s family donates 100 pairs of shoes
Shoes will be distributed to needy children in areas such as Durban Deep.
On Tuesday July 26, Gerda Bekker, general manager of Wings of Inspirations’ shelter for women as well as Anthea da Costa, Director of the Wings of Inspiration group of charities, received 100 pairs of brand-new shoes at Crawford Ruimsig Primary School.
The shoes were donated by Grade 1 learner Milan Dasruth’s mother Chantelle, as their contribution to this year’s Mandela Day. The charity organisation will distribute the shoes to needy children in areas such as Durban Deep.
School principal Ashleigh Bateman, as well as special guest Mrs Krugersdorp Jenny-Lee Swanepoel, spoke to the children about love, shining your light, and how a small gesture can make a huge difference.
Wings of Inspiration currently runs various charities such as a shelter for women and babies, a home for the elderly, and an animal shelter as well as a sober house and a drug rehabilitation centre.
