Successful Magalies roadblock held by many stakeholders

A 42-year-old man was arrested for drunk driving during a high density crime prevention operation held by the Magaliesburg and Hekpoort police.
Sergeant Kgomotso Mogwere from the Magaliesburg police said they were joined by the Hekpoort police, Hekpoort farm patrollers, Magaliesburg land owners, Volsec Security, Oostermoed Security, Custodia Security and BIC Security on Friday, January 26 for the operation. The roadblock was held at the corner of the R24 and Hekpoort road.

“The operation was aiming at intensifying high police visibility and crime prevention around Magaliesburg and Hekpoort policing precinct. It was also focused largely on a vehicle control or vehicle check point, searching for illegal firearms, stolen or hijacked motor vehicles, possession of stolen properties and the transportation of drugs and prohibited goods.”

The Magaliesburg police’s Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mawewe Vuma also thanked everyone for coming together and sending a clear message to both communities that they are working to ensure a safe environment for their communities.
