The West Rand Flying Squad (WRFS) shared its successes for the week of February 3 to 9, highlighting multiple arrests and recovered property.
According to WRFS spokesperson Karen du Plessis, on February 3, police on patrol stopped a vehicle at about 19:15 at the corner of Main Reef Road and Monument Street. Two people were arrested for possession of semi-fabricated precious metal without a licence after officers found gold nuggets valued at R20 000.
On February 5, officers recovered an abandoned stolen VW Polo in Roodepoort, valued at about R135 000, following a tip-off received at 05:30. The same day, an arrest warrant for domestic violence was executed in Kagiso.
Du Plessis added that on February 7 at about 22:00, police attended an accident scene and later arrested a suspect for culpable homicide after recovering the vehicle in Azaadville.
The following day, February 8, officers arrested a suspect in Kagiso for malicious damage to property after furniture worth R7 500 was destroyed.
The WRFS continues to enforce the law and maintain public safety across the West Rand.
