Braam Grovè (the chef) and Lombard Roux (the butcher) hosted their deli’s grand opening on Friday, September 2.



According to Lombard they chose not to be a butchery as there are excellent butcheries in the area. They rather chose to specialise in certain meat cuts, depending on the demand, and focus on preparing meat for their customers.





Our prepared food is heat-and-eat; you throw it into the pot or oven and just warm it up. It’s healthy with no preservatives, and prepared by using lots of vegetables and the freshest cuts of meat. It’s also important to us to support smaller local businesses for our ingredients and spices,” said Braam.
Lombard added that they use only the highest-quality meat and that he provides Braam with the best to use when preparing his dishes. Fancy cuts of meat will also be available on request.
When clients walk through the door they can expect friendly service and quality food.
“The combination that The Chef and The Butcher brings to the table makes our business unique. You won’t find a butcher who has been in the meat industry for so long and a chef who cares about decent ingredients and food in the same deli.

The deli supplies Butcher’s boerewors, extra lean mince, memorable mince, keftede patties, burger patties, Lombard’s wings, sexy thighs, delish drumsticks, chicken prego, biltong and droëwors.
Ready-made meals such as authentic bolognese, genuine bobotie, short-rib stew and Thai green curry, as well as a variety of sauces and spices are available at the deli.

Orders can be placed through WhatsApp, and they also deliver. The deli is situated at 55 Shannon Road, Noordheuwel and is open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:00.
