Four arrested with rifle ammo, gold and R70k cash
Two members of the Krugersdorp police found 10 rounds of rifle ammunition, 10g of gold and R70 000 during a routine stop and search.
A routine stop and search recently led to the arrest of four men and the confiscation of R70 000, live rifle ammunition, and raw gold.

West Rand District Police spokesperson Sergeant Sabina Mashego explained that Sergeant Shivuri and Constable Nkoana were on patrol in Krugersdorp at 12:50 on Wednesday, May 10. The two members were on Paardekraal Road near Key West Shopping Centre when they noticed a suspicious red Toyota Corolla with four men inside.
“They then stopped the vehicle and upon further investigation, the driver alleged that he was coming from Bekkersdal with another occupant.”

The third person said he was from Kagiso and the last was allegedly from Monument, Krugersdorp. The members also found that two of the occupants were undocumented immigrants.
“The suspects were four men aged between 23 and 54 years old. They were arrested and charged with having unlicensed ammunition, money laundering, possession of raw gold, and illegal immigration.”
They will all be appearing in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court.
West Rand District Police Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana thanked the members for their hard work.
