Man wanted after R10 pool game turns deadly

A man was stabbed and killed when an argument turned deadly at a tavern in Rietvallei. Police have since released a photo of the murder suspect and need your help.

The Kagiso Police have turned to the members of the community to help them locate a man believed to have murdered a 39-year-old man over a pool game.

Kagiso Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya said a 39-year-old man was playing pool with a man (pictured) at the Mugabe’s Tavern in Rietvallei Extension 3 at about 18:00 on Monday, April 3.

“They allegedly put a bet of R10 on the table which the victim won. The suspect [in the picture] got angry and instead demanded his R10 back. He further took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the upper body.”

Sibiya added that the victim ran out of the tavern and later fell, succumbing to his injuries. He was declared dead by paramedics.

“The suspect has since disappeared. He is known as Mafutha or Mafra.”
