According to Guardmax’s director Jan Venter, their reaction officers went to investigate and found about five trespassers on the property who suddenly opened fire.
“The officers returned fire and during the shootout one of the trespassers was fatally wounded while the rest fled the scene.
The wounded trespasser was found in possession of a firearm which was later identified by one of his former victims as he [the trespasser] was allegedly involved in a previous armed robbery in the area,” explained Venter.
He concluded police were immediately contacted who took over and investigated the scene.
