Police confirm gas bottle found in vehicle after Coronation Park fire

After the vehicle fire at Coronation Park, police confirmed a gas bottle was found in the car; however, its role in the incident remains uncertain.

Police have released an update following the vehicle fire at Coronation Park on November 5, where a charred body was recovered.

According to West Rand K9 Unit spokesperson Warrant Officer Reinier Henning, an inquest has been opened to determine the cause of death of the woman who was found inside the vehicle.

“There was a gas bottle found in the vehicle, which did not explode, and we cannot confirm at this stage whether it played a role in the fire,” Henning said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
