Vehicle recovery and drug bust for Flying Squad

The team recovered a hijacked vehicle in Muldersdrift and arrested a drug suspect in Kagiso.

The West Rand Flying Squad (WRFS) recorded two successes on Sunday, June 21 in separate incidents across the West Rand.

According to WRFS spokesperson Karen du Plessis, a Hyundai Grand i10 was hijacked in Cosmo City during the early hours of Sunday. The vehicle was later recovered in Muldersdrift after it was found abandoned.

Later that morning, at about 10:00, officers conducted a stop-and-search operation in Kagiso, where they arrested a suspect for possession of drugs. Police confiscated 10g of crystal meth (tik), six half Mandrax tablets and five small bags of dagga.

Du Plessis said the estimated street value of the drugs is about R3 228.
