N14 in Oaktree blocked by protest action

Police, private security and other emergency services are on the scene as protesters block the N14 in Muldersdrift.

Protest action has brought traffic to a standstill on the N14 between Pinehaven and Oaktree today, June 24.

The Krugersdorp News is on the scene, where protesters have blocked the road and set alight objects, including tyres, resulting in severe traffic congestion in both directions.

According to a security officer on the scene, Wimpie Reid, the protest is reportedly linked to an eviction dispute in the area.

Numerous law enforcement, security and emergency services are monitoring the situation.
