Councillor serves special needs school in the most heart-warming way
As a public servant, you always have to be aware of the needs of the community you serve, however, for Boltonia councillor Whitey Moleba, his service was more personal.
The main job of a Mogale City ward councillor is to serve citizens and ensure that their basic needs are met.
Whitey Moleba has always been keen on serving his community, however, his latest project was far different from the usual ones. On Tuesday, April 4 he took time out of his busy day to visit Pro-Practicum, a special needs school and donated school shoes for learners who don’t have them.

This project was not only just a project and rather personal for Whitey as he too was a young student who did not have school shoes coming from a disadvantaged background.

“I was raised by a single mother and being one of eight children it wasn’t easy for her to do everything by herself,” he said.
The project was just one of the many initiatives that will help the community as Whitey intends to go further with other schools in the area.
For Whitey it was not only the gesture that hopes will make a difference but to also bring awareness for the most vulnerable learners in schools.
“This initiative was not only about me and why I did it but I also want to teach everyone that regardless of the challenges these learners face we are all human at the end of the day. I hope the community learns something from this,” said Whitey.
