New payment system, new-look website for municipality

Mogale City Local Municipality has provided more clarity about the new payment system.

Mogale City’s Financial Management Services reminds account holders that due to the recent transition of the financial system from BIQ to MunSoft, there will be changes to the appearance of all account statements.

According to Mogale City’s communication officer Refilwe Mahlangu, as part of this transition, the municipality would like to draw the public’s attention to the following:

• Changes to account numbers: As previously communicated, account numbers have changed from 15 digits to 10 digits, this change will not affect residents in any way. The new account numbers will be clearly visible on the new statements for their convenience.

“While we understand that change can sometimes be unsettling, we assure all account holders that these updates are aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial system, ultimately benefiting you, our valued clients,” Mahlangu said.

Details regarding the new online customer portal will be launched later this month and thus later communicated. For now, the old online statement system will remain accessible to all account holders.

Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding these changes, send an email to customerservices@mogalecity.gov.za or a WhatsApp to 083 787 2814.

Residents are also advised to look on the city’s website to see what the new system will look like.
