Albertina Sisulu Road to be temporarily closed for repairs

Residents are advised to use alternative routes on Albertina Sisulu Road due to roadworks.

Residents, motorists and cyclists of Mogale City are advised to use alternative routes now that Albertina Sisulu Road (eastbound) in Mogale City will be temporarily closed for rehabilitation work of the slow lane.

According to Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) communication officer Refilwe Mahlangu, the work is planned to begin today, April 29 and will conclude on May 31.

Motorists are advised to take the below alternative routes and follow the detour signs that will be installed during this period:

• Detour via Windsor Road
To join Main Reef or Barrat roads, motorists must travel via Windsor Road.

• Detour via Hospital Road and Paul Kruger Road
Motorists wishing to join Johan Jonker Drive near Millennium Primary School have the option to access places of interest through Hospital Road, at the Engen Service Station on Paardekraal Drive, past Paul Kruger Road and connect via Level Street which runs parallel to Albertina Sisulu Road.

• Detour via Barrat Road
To access Wentworth Street while travelling from the western direction on Main Reef Road, drive on Barrat Road and connect along Level and Saner Streets.

“Mogale City Roads and Transport Services apologises in advance for the inconvenience and thanks road users for their cooperation,” concluded Mahlangu.
