Low pressure and no water in parts of Mogale
Numerous areas in Mogale City are experiencing low water pressure or no water at all due to a pipe that burst.
Mogale City’s Water Services wants to inform residents that a large part of the city has been experiencing either low water pressure or no water supply since Thursday night (June 13).
According to Mogale City communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, this is due to a main water pipeline burst between Boltonia and the Krugersdorp Correctional Services.
“This necessitated an immediate shutdown of water supply to prevent water wastage,” Mahlangu said.
She added the following areas are affected:
• Boltonia
• Krugersdorp CBD, Krugersdorp North and Krugersdorp West
• Monument Extension 4
• Game Park
• Munsieville
• Quellerie Park
• Oatlands
• Wildtuin Park
According to Mahlangu, an arrangement for alternative water supply through water tankers is being put in place, and communication regarding their locations will follow soon.
“We can report that tree cutting around the pipe started at 08:00 this morning (June 14) to make way for repair work while the services of armed security personnel are urgently sourced for the safety of our artisans as the area is an illegal mining hotspot,” Mahlangu continued.
“Water Services therefore asks for your patience and understanding during this time.”
