Public warned against water-borne diseases in rivers and streams

While the town's tap water can be trusted, the municipality warns residents not to come into contact with streams and rivers.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) warns that water in rivers and streams is polluted.

According to MCLM communications officer Adrian Amod, residents are urged to avoid these dangerous water sources.

“Whether for swimming, drinking, baptisms, traditional rituals, or the washing of clothes, avoid contact with streams and rivers, as there are water-borne diseases present,” Amod warned.

However, he concluded that tap water in Krugersdorp is tested and can be trusted.
