Beware of yet another scammer in Mogale

Municipal scammers have been trying to make a quick buck for years now, and Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) wishes to warn residents about the latest scam.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu says a recent message circulating on WhatsApp involving an individual named Rodwell Khumalo, is falsely notifying residents of scheduled disconnections due to alleged account arrears.

The message has numerous spelling and grammatical errors.

“Residents are advised that this communication is not from the municipality and is a scam. If anyone requests access to your property under this pretence, please refuse entry and report the incident to our local police station,” Mahlangu warned.
