How to re-register your spaza shop before the Dec 13 deadline

MCLM reminds spaza shops and vendors about the re-registration process as the deadline looms.

With spaza shops and vendors currently under pressure to have their permits and necessary documentation in order, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has reminded them about the re-registration deadline on December 13.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu reiterated that application forms for registration or permits to conduct business can be downloaded from www.mogalecity.gov.za.

“It can also be collected at the Enterprise and Rural Development Office, Furncity Building on the third floor on the corner of Human and Monument Street. The completed application form is to be received only by our Enterprise and Rural Development personnel for onward processing,” Mahlangu stated.

She continued to say MCLM are conducting background checks on applicants in collaboration with law enforcement agencies to verify the legality of their business activities.

“After the applicant has satisfied all conditions stated by Mogale City, the business owner will be issued a registration card or permit that must always be displayed and available for inspection,” she concluded.
